One photo is all it takes

Pick the effect, add your photo, and Aura does the rest: the same balcony, the same camera, the same lightning and the same moves, second by second, with your face and hair. It keeps the clothes in your photo, or picks an outfit that fits you if your photo is a close-up.

  1. Open AI Video Effects and choose Calabaza Dance.
  2. Upload one photo of one person, face clearly visible.
  3. About five minutes later you get a 14-second vertical video with the sound, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

The whole trend, with your face

Calabaza Dance is not a filter on top of your photo. All 14 seconds are made again with you: the step back from the phone, the arms crossed under the lightning, the rolling forearms, the hand pumping at your hip and the walk back to the camera, on the original sound. The man above came from a close-up, so Aura picked an outfit that fits him: a mustard t-shirt, jeans and white sneakers. With a photo that shows your clothes, you dance in yours.

Who can be in it

Anyone with a clear photo of their face: you, your brother, your dad, your best friend, the whole group chat. Men and women of any age. Send it to the friend who always dances like that when the song comes on.

Frequently asked questions

What is la calabaza dance?

La calabaza dance is the viral TikTok trend on the sound LA CALABAZA - TINIEBLA Edit. In the lightning version a guy steps back from his phone onto a balcony at night, stands with his arms crossed while lightning lights up the sky, then dances with his forearms rolling and one hand pumping at his hip, and walks back to the phone to stop it. In Aura AI it is a video effect: you upload one photo and you are the one on the balcony.

How do I make the calabaza dance AI video with my photo? (tutorial)

Open AI Video Effects in Aura AI, choose Calabaza Dance and upload one photo of one person with the face clearly visible. In about five minutes you get the 14-second vertical video with the original sound, ready to post.

Which photo works best?

One person, face clearly visible and looking roughly at the camera, in good light. A close-up selfie works, and so does a photo from head to toe.

What will I wear in the video?

Calabaza Dance keeps the clothes in your photo, or picks an outfit that fits you if your photo is a close-up. Your face and hair always come from your photo.

Is this la calabaza dance lightning trend?

Yes. People call it la calabaza dance lightning, the la calabaza lightning boy, the la calabaza thunder guy or simply la calabaza trend. It is the balcony version with the lightning, with you as the dancer.

Do I need a calabaza dance filter or a CapCut template?

No. There is no filter or template to set up: you upload one photo in Aura AI and get the finished video, with the sound already on it.

Does the video have sound?

Yes, it comes with the trend's original sound, LA CALABAZA - TINIEBLA Edit, so you can post it straight to TikTok, Reels or Shorts.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

30 credits for the 14-second video. It is ready in about five minutes.
